A Message From HuffPost To Our Readers In Kansas

A Message From HuffPost To Our Readers In Kansas
Thursday, March 7, 2013
Hello from HuffPost Open Reporting -

This is a one-time email to our readers in Kansas.

This week, state legislators introduced a bill to strictly limit the use of drone technology in Kansas.

The bill's supporters say that unchecked drone use could threaten civil liberties. However, critics say the bill may harm the state's economy by closing off opportunities for aviation research, training, and manufacturing.

Similar bills introduced in North Dakota and Oklahoma have also proposed to limit drone use, but make several exceptions for higher education training programs, law enforcement, and search-and-rescue missions.

We want to know what you think. Should the Kansas bill pass? Should it include more exemptions, like the bills in North Dakota and Oklahoma?
